Perhaps best known for their performance of Richie Valens' La Bamba, Los Lobos (Spanish for "The Wolves") have been performing together for over 40 years. With multiple Grammy awards in their collective prize closets, it's no surprise that this class act can still rock just as hard today as when they first recorded in 1977.
The Charlie Daniels Band and Los Lobos will headline the 21st annual Beartrap Summer Festival August 1st and 2nd. Townsquare Media of Casper invites everyone to come up for these two legendary bands featured on the new Beartrap stage. “It’s a larger stage with a fresh new look,” said Festival Coordinator Jana Price. “We’ve wanted to get these two awesome bands for quite some time, and with this new stage, we were able to make it happen!”
"What kind of music do you like?"
"Oh, Randy Newman. Fairport Convention. Ry Cooder. You?"
It's not an unusual conversation for two high-school kids in the 1970s, except that these two pickers were Chicano and lived in the hotbed of traditional Mexican music that was East Los Angeles. "We’re looking at each other like, 'You like this stuff?'" drummer Louie Perez recalls. "I thought I was the only weird one.'
