Always a favorite at Beartrap, Wyoming's own Jalan Crossland once again surpassed expectations and brought the crowd to their feet. Few have tried, but none will likely ever be able to de-thrown the king of Wyoming folk music!

Have you ever heard of a "Whack-A-Do" stick? No? Well, neither had I... not until I saw Jalan Crossland's set in the Meadow this year. Drummers are often known for their antics, but these guys took it to level 11. Check out the video!

For those familiar with the festival, it is no secret that we encourage dancing and other festive gyrations -- let's be honest, not everything can REALLY be considered "dancing" -- and few have brought the crowd to the front of the stage better than The Last Revel did in the Meadow this year. If you have a chance to see these young men on another stage, be sure to bring your dancing shoes!
There's something about Taarka that makes you want to go eat some Indian food... I just don't know know what it is. Anyway. They were amazing. Of course.
Having now seen Taarka play live, there is no doubt of their diverse musical inspiration.

When you hear these girls play, it becomes obvious that they are no strangers to their instruments. They've been playing since the age of four, as a matter of fact. Kinda makes my rudimentary version of chopsticks look even more silly than previously thought.
It's true. good things often come in small packages, as was evidenced by the performance from Ana, Rachel & Friends on the Beartrap stage Sunday morning. It's so great to see these young ladies make such amazing music!
