We loved this year's line-up for Beartrap 2014--from Jalan Crossland, Littlest Birds and Spencer Bohren, to Johnny Sketch, The Deadly Gentlemen and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band--the bluegrass, country, jazz, insert other awesome music type here, rocked our socks off
The Deadly Gentlemen hit the stage on Sunday afternoon, adding a strong beat and eclectic tune to an outstanding bluegrass crowd. The four-piece ensemble, complete with cello, banjo, guitar and percussion, kept a strong voice and made crowds erupt in hoots and clapping
One of the few acts at Beartrap Summer Festival that makes flatpicking a true art form--Rebecca Frazier and Hit Run stepped on stage to engage the festival crowd with some plucky, upbeat tunes.
Rebecca is nominated for Album of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Guitar Player of the Year, Emerging Artist of the Year, and Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year according to her website.
Johnny Sketch and The Dirty Notes brought Beartrap Summer Festival 2014 to a close with a combination of percussion, strings and brass---saxophone and trumpet notes belted into the audience as the group performed for more than an hour and a half
Multi-talented Spencer Bohren wasn't afraid to pass along the microphone to fellow acts at Beartrap Summer Festival this year---especially when they happen to be his talented family. Take a peek at the various performers, as well as Bohren himself, in the photo gallery below
Modern vintage--good descriptors for The Likes Of Us, who hit the stage Saturday morning at the 2014 Beartrap Summer Festival. The six-member group says they want to transport people back to a simpler time in bluegrass music
If there was one man that could end Beartrap Summer Festival on the highest possible note, it would be Steve Earle. Luckily, that's exactly what he did on Sunday. Steve Earle and The Dukes put on a heck of a show to close out this year's Beartrap Festival.
I always thought that in order to be infamous, you had to be bad. But The Infamous Stringdusters are anything but. Their unique take on Bluegrass/Americana has led them to actual fame, which has in turn led them to Beartrap Summer Festival 2012. We're glad about that. Check out these pics from their set.
